Parrsboro Creative is a not-for-profit art organization dedicated to building a new cultural economy in Parrsboro and its radial community. The fundamental focus of Parrsboro Creative centres on its two Major Building Blocks: A Cultural Campus offering a unique range of fine arts and artisan workshops, and Artists Attraction Program to encourage artists to move to Parrsboro to set up a colony of working studios.
We believe that, through the sustained support of carefully selected and well-planned cultural initiatives, an arts-centered environment can be established that will bring artistic excellence and cultural tourism together in such a way that it will stabilize, revive, and in time, sustain a new prosperity for Parrsboro and Cumberland County.
Since its inaugural season in 2015, Parrsboro Creative has experienced a significant enhancement of profile, and is now cited in the recently published Nova Scotia Government’s Culture and Action Plan as one of the eight top groups to watch for driving the economy through arts/cultural initiatives.
