Traditional Inuit Mitt Making Workshop with Laura MacKenzie
Parrsboro Creative is thrilled to be offering this unique Inuit Mitt Making Workshop. This 2-day workshop will be held on Saturday, February 14, and Sunday, February 15 from 10am to 4pm.
The instructor, Laura MacKenzie, is a seamstress and jewelry maker who specializes in working with diverse fabrics and materials, including sealskin and antler. Her handmade creations include parkas, mittens, earrings, and intricate sealskin flowers.
With teaching experience in mitten making, Laura will be leading another workshop to share her expertise in this traditional craft. Laura will cut the pattern, and each student will learn how to sew and create their own unique pair of mitts.
