Michael Fuller

Born, raised and educated in Hantsport, NS, Michael Fuller has studied and experimented in a range of artistic avenues. His first entry into visual arts was at ten years old when he took painting lessons from V. Rowlings. While studying at Acadia University, he studied theatre and focused on direction and design, and fell into studio painting with Dr. Ian James.

After many changes in a compelling and creative career path over the next forty years, Michael finally returned to the painted canvas with a passion in 2016 with the opening of Art Lab Studios and Gallery. He is primarily self-taught, but has enjoyed the influence of accomplished artist friends in the past few years.

Outside of the visual art world, Michael has created an oasis of peaceful living with Krista Wells (his partner of thirty-three years), co-founded the Ship’s Company theatre in Parrsboro, initiated the restoration and establishment of the community cultural centre The Hall, and was the visionary founder of the community cultural development organization Parrsboro Creative.

I can’t paint unless I feel it. It is then always a struggle to realize the truth of the vision.
